I love how you allow your kids to explore their creativity, even when it's a little messy! I am a huge advocate of exploratory learning. I run an after school program, and so many of the things you do with your kids, I can see my kiddos LOVING. I can't wait to bring some of your ideas back to my program. Thank you for sharing all of your great ideas! I made his front a table-top with a slice of cake on a paper plate, a plastic fork, table cloth, stack of gifts (empty food boxes wrapped with coloring pages) and a drinking cup with straw and paper soda with cardboard ice cubes. The back pannel was a ladder-back chair from cardboard and covered with white duct tape. Balloons tiede on the top knob. And, a paper hat made from coloring pages found online and an empty vanilla wafer box. He LOVED it and everyone asked him what store it came from.Impishnesshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00197122643006710422noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7543941664703892689.post-21325635883802753692011-11-07T17:31:25.809-08:002011-11-07T17:31:25.809-08:00Great Costumes!

Why, YES! Yes, I have! This year, son of mine wanted to be "The Road"... or, more specifically, a "four-way stop". Black sweatsuit with painted road lines running town each sleeve and the front and back meeting at his neck, with shrinky dinked road signs sewn on. Pics at http://www.curiouspebble.com

Last year, he was The Ocean... Sand colored pants with sea plants cut from sticky felt and applied to the pant legs... A blue shirt, painted with lighter streaks to simulate rays of light, plastic fish and other ocean flor and fauna hot glued to the shirt... Oh, and you'd be surprised how well dots of hot glue look like bubbles!!!

I'm just left wondering what next year will bring... :D

I ADORE that she wanted the frying pan!!!Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15563471576097420401noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7543941664703892689.post-804644731000711212011-11-06T08:01:15.763-08:002011-11-06T08:01:15.763-08:00Love that Ms. Frizzle costume!Love that Ms. Frizzle costume!Michellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01308680396802432722noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7543941664703892689.post-42783516294573325822011-11-05T20:59:44.174-07:002011-11-05T20:59:44.174-07:00I love your plants vs. zombies yard!
